They often compromise their own lives for the lives of others, and push themselves to the limit from one year to the next. Although heroic in one way, it is not good for the person or their work. Care and attention must be given to those who lead the way. I call this strategic wellbeing; recognising and looking after a person so they can be the most effective driving force and role model for others. It is the critical heart of social change. I have found the best way to do this is by getting the person away (truly away) and by expert one-to-one support as and when the person needs it.
